Veteran Trial Lawyer Dan Barrett Joins Gravely PC’s Construction Defect, Insurance Dispute Team

Barrett brings courtroom, municipal law experience to innovative public entity litigation team.

Gravely PC has added veteran litigator Dan Barrett to its highly respected team partnering with cities, counties and other public entities in insurance coverage and construction defect disputes.

Barrett has served as a trusted advisor to city managers, school administrators, elected officials and municipal lawyers in matters involving construction defects and insurance claim disputes. Using an innovative budget-neutral contingent-fee model, the Gravely team works with public-sector clients to hold contractors and design professionals accountable when taxpayer-funded developments are not designed and built as promised. The trial lawyers are equally experienced in litigation against insurance companies that fail to honor damages claims.

“When taxpayer dollars are on the line, public projects must be on time, on budget and built to last,” said Mr. Barrett.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Gravely team’s important work helping entities faithfully guard taxpayer funds and create public projects that will benefit our communities for generations to come.”

Mr. Barrett is a past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a former member of ABOTA’s national board. Accomplished on both sides of the docket, he was a state director of both the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, as well as president of the Tarrant County plaintiffs’ and defense bars. In addition, he has held specialty certifications from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

“This is an area of law where experience is hard to come by,” said Gravely PC founder Marc Gravely. “Dan’s arrival means we’re adding one of the best to our team.”
