Brendan McBride
Texas Lawyer
Brendan McBride is the lawyer that other lawyers go to in order to make their cases better. Obtaining great results requires recognizing the best strategy early on in a case. In the past six years alone, Mr. McBride has been called on by other lawyers to handle nearly 50 cases before state and federal appellate courts. And they have asked him to help design winning strategies for more than 200 other civil cases involving a wide array of subjects in venues across the country.
His philosophy is that key legal issues and strategy decisions that will define a case must be recognized and planned for at the outset. His practice encompasses all aspects of complex civil litigation strategy and civil appeals.
He regularly presents papers and speaks at legal education seminars on a variety of matters related to advanced civil practice.
Mr. McBride has extensive experience in litigation related to:
- Insurance Coverage
- Commercial Disputes
- Information and Technology
- Commercial Fraud
- Products Liability
- Construction Defects
- Special Education
- Electronic Discovery
- Real Property Litigation
- Civil Appeals and Extraordinary Writs
His background in commercial insurance coverage litigation has primarily been on behalf of policyholders and includes coverage disputes in both the first-party and third-party contexts.
He has developed innovative and winning strategies in large defect disputes involving both public construction projects, such as public schools and hospitals, and litigation arising out of private commercial construction projects, such as hotels, apartments, condominium buildings and medical facilities.
He also provides appellate and litigation support in complex commercial disputes between companies and between consumers and companies involving breach of contract, misrepresentation, fraud and deceptive trade practices.
- State Bar of Texas
- U.S. District courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western districts of Texas
- U.S. Circuit courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Tenth circuits
Mr. McBride is responsible for spearheading a new pro bono legal clinic designed to educate and empower families involved with the public special education system and to act as advocates for their children in securing their legal right to a free and appropriate public education. The clinic is now part of the San Antonio Bar Association’s Community Justice Program.
