Founder and Managing Partner Marc Gravely has been named Advisor to the Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Marc’s fellow members of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors selected him for this role.
The State Bar of Texas is a judicial administrative agency that provides educational programs, resources, and ethical guidance for the public and legal professionals. With more than 100,000 members, it is one of the largest bar associations in the country. Marc was appointed to the Board of Directors by former Board President Joe K. Longley in 2019 and will serve his term through 2021.
The Construction Law Section has 2,500 members, including licensed attorneys and other interested parties within the construction industry, who are focused on advancing the practice of construction law in Texas. In his new role, Marc will advise the council board. This group is responsible for planning Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events, the annual two-day Construction Law Conference, and other benefits for members.
“It’s an honor to be chosen by my peers to advise the Construction Law Section,” said Marc. “I plan on bringing my deep construction law expertise to bear in this role.”
Marc has two decades of construction litigation experience, most recently at the firm he founded and leads, Gravely P.C. His construction law practice is solely focused on representing and protecting the rights of property owners.
Marc has been invited to share his knowledge with other attorneys at numerous Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars and audit courses. He has also written about construction law extensively in his book series “7 Step Guide to Construction Defect Claims” and his forthcoming book “America’s Hidden Renaissance” (Sutton Hart Press late 2020).
Marc has also been named Advisor to the State Bar of Texas Insurance Law Section, where he will serve a similar role.
